Ferdinand A. Belcamino, 86, of Newington, beloved husband of Eleanor (Stomski) Belcamino died Thursday March 8, 2007. Born in Springfield, MA, Ferdinand was a Newington resident for the past 38 years. He retired from Northeast Utilities in 1985 after more than 40 years of service. Ferdinand was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of World War II, and a member of the Hardware City Detachment Marine Corp. League. He was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit, the Knights of Columbus, and was secretary for the Newington Senior Center. Along with his wife Eleanor, Ferdinand is survived by his daughters Beverly Belcamino, Esq. and her husband Richard Longstreth, of Monroe, and Linda Brown and her husband Ellsworth, of Eastham, MA, and his great-granddaughter, Ashley Goodspeed. Ferdinand was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Joseph, Albert, Stephen, Laura, Antonetta, Theresa, Stella, May and Rose, His funeral service will be held Wednesday 9:00 a.m. from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit. Interment with military honors will be in West Meadow Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial. The Hardware City Detachment will conduct a service Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hardware City Detachment, Marine Corp. League, c/o Richard Wearne, 23 Wilcox Court, East Berlin, CT06023.
