Sharon S. Wnuk, 57, of Berlin, CT entered into eternal rest, Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Hartford Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Tucson, Arizona in 1951, she was the daughter of Maureen E. Bingham of Berlin. Sharon was surrounded by family and friends in the days leading to her death. Sharon was employed by CCARC and the city of New Britain, Dept. of Community Services for 30 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Church in Kensington and of the American Legion Post 68 Auxiliary always playing an active role in many post functions. She was an advocate for abused and abandoned animals. She leaves her beloved husband of 19 years, Norman Wnuk, and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her two sons, MSG Daniel E. Pilewski, U.S. Army Active, Jaime P. Salerno and his wife Jennifer of Wallingford, and two grandchildren Anthony and Ariana Salerno of Wallingford. She also leaves her sister-in-law Deborah Wnuk of New Britain, and several nieces and nephews. Sharon was predeceased by her two sisters, Linda Bingham and Karen Gleifert. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m. from the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Kensington. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
